RAW: State Theatre CEO Is Going

State Theatre Company Chief Executive Office Pamela Foulkes has opted not to renew her contract when it expires at the end of 2011, and will have her last day with the Company on 17 February 2012.

Pamela, who commenced with the Company in 2009, will go on to a part-time position with Musica Viva as South Australian Concerts Manager.

Pamela said: “My time with the State Theatre Company has been immensely rewarding and the decision to move on was not easy. I am proud to have been part of the delivery of so many high quality theatre productions over the past three years. However, after 18 years in senior management roles in the arts I have decided that is time to step back from the full-time workforce and explore other things in life. A large part of my career has been with music and I am delighted to be have been offered this opportunity by Musica Viva to work with their wonderful artists and play a role in providing fine music to Adelaide audiences.”

State Theatre Company Board Chair, John Irving, said: “Pamela has made a huge contribution to the Company over the last 3 years and she will be missed. We wish her every success in the new role with Musica Viva. The role of CEO at the Company will be advertised shortly and we are confident a replacement will be in place by the time Pamela leaves in February 2012.”

  1. Pamela was so arrogant and out of touch.I’m glad she has moved on. Such a shame the board let Adam Cook stay for 8 years, now at least top tier theatre here has a chance to be something more than internal indulgence.
