June need not be a dull month with the excitement, glitz and glamour of the 2012 Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Do yourself a favour and check out the amazing program – there’s something in there for everybody!

FRINGE – Wyrd with Grace – HST – 4K

An inspirational creative work, Alexandra is a beautiful dancer. 4K

FRINGE – Jason Byrne – Arts Theatre – 2.5K

For some time his show seemed to be progressing well until, like too many other comedians, Byrne then saw a need to descend (or was it plunge) into 10 hard core minutes of vagina jokes – like why? 2.5K

FRINGE – Swami in Me – 3.5K

Clearly showing vocal skills with her singing and her guitar playing, Torbet puts a hilarious spin on several songs with rewritten lyrics that would leave the audience keel in laughter. 3.5K

FRINGE – Cirque de Gymnastique – Retrospective – 4.5K

Definitely a great show mixed in with film and some great tracks. 4.5K

FRINGE – Counterproductives – Mr and Mrs – Bakehouse Theatre – 3.5K

Certainly it is a very enjoyable performance to attend. 3.5K

FESTIVAL – Water Stains on the Wall – Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan – 2.5K

For those of you who are interested in technical brilliance only, this show is well worth purchasing a ticket to. For everybody else, unless you have an amazing attention span this show is not recommended. Although beautiful to watch, ‘Water Stains’ is heavy going. 2.5K

FESTIVAL – A Streetcar – Festival Theatre – 2K

At the end of the day, a play stands or falls on its message but when an audience has to struggle so hard to make head or tail of what is happening, no amount of fancy bathroomware, video or histrionics can close the gap. This Streetcar simply left its audience behind. 2K
