FRINGE: Music – Adam Page Solo – La Boheme – 4.5K

HAVE YOU SEEN ADAM PAGE? By now Adelaideans have no excuse. In fact, so many of us want to that his sold-out Solo Fringe shows at La Boheme had to be moved downstairs to accommodate more people. 4.5K

FRINGE: Swing To My Lulu – Nexus – 3.5K

There’s a little bit for everyone in this show – from the classic jazz-club feel of the tables, to the switch from soul to blues to old school pop to the fine, fine sounds emanating from the talented musicians on stage, this is one show that can easily be enjoyed by a broader audience than seems. 3.5K

FRINGE: Spirit of Africa – Nexus – 3K

As will be unsurprising to anybody who is a fan of traditional African music – the upbeat rhythms and the inescapable enthusiasm of all the performers was absolutely infectious and totally thrilling. By the end of the show most of the room was on their feet, dancing frenziedly to the high energy act and clearly having the time of their lives. 3K

His New York style reflects his own time studying there and his voice more than successfully traverses the scales and beats to make his show a thorough pleasure. 4K

FRINGE – Footprints Through Africa – The Garage International – Music

The performers are masters of their talents. I’d love to see this in the Spiegeltent next year, or at the very least a larger venue. A great show, interesting, rhythmically amazing and just good fun. 3.5K

RAW: Tim McMillan vs Yogi Glare – Worldsend – 3.5K

This is a different but not awkward performance, a new method to show off virtuosity and make bar room music even more enjoyable at the same time. Take them in. 3.5K

FRINGE: Take Me Back To Paris – Nexus – 4.5K

If you weren’t convinced of Blackwell’s French expertise before the show, you might have completely forgotten she was an Adelaide native after she charismatically delivered a few blissfully accented words to the audience. 4.5K

FRINGE – Music – Katie Noonan and the Captains – Spiegeltent 4K

The majesty of the spiegeltent encased Katie Noonan and her new band The Captains. The audience each felt like they were alone with the band, it was a very intimate experience. The band, through their music stole your complete attention, it was as if you didn’t even want to look away, in case you missed something. 4K
