THEATRE: Pinocchio – Windmill & STCSA – Dunstan Playhouse – 3.5K

SMA Kryztoff banner Revealed 100dpi red

This is a show that will engage younger audiences, particularly families, and is a great opportunity to get children seeing theatre (especially in the school holidays). Whether it will be a hit with the older crowds though is questionable. While still enjoyable from an adult perspective, it doesn’t quite tick all the boxes you might hope. 3.5K

FESTIVAL OF ARTS: School Dance- Theatre – 4K

image003-1

It is a brave aim to produce a play aimed at teenagers but this production should attract any child of the 80s or fan of comedy theatre. A real treat for Festival goers who have ever or are currently living the teenage experience. 4K

RAW: Fugitive – Robin Hood Retold – Space Until 14th Aug – 4K

The interweaving of this traditional Robin Hood story with almost everything else being modern, along with a tale about young people desperately trying to come to terms with their place in the world, is expertly done. The humour builds from Little John’s flatulence problem early on to Geoff Revell’s show stealing roles, first on a horse as a sage, then as the treacherous Guy. It is a great romps. 4K
